Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how BMI Calculator: Weight Tracker collects, uses, shares, retains, and protects information when you use the app, connect Apple Health, scan foods, track progress, or contact support.
1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy describes the privacy practices of the operator of BMI Calculator: Weight Tracker (“we,” “us,” or “our”) for the mobile application, website, support channels, and related services. It explains what information may be collected, how it is used, when it may be shared, and the choices available to you.
By using the app, you acknowledge that information may be processed as described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with this Privacy Policy, do not use the app.
2. Information We Collect
- Account and profile information: identifiers such as your email address, sign-in details, display name, app settings, units of measurement, goals, and preferences you choose to provide.
- Body and progress information: height, weight, body mass index, goal weight, progress entries, timestamps, and related measurements you add or import.
- Nutrition information: meals, food names, calories, macronutrients, serving sizes, water intake, barcode scan results, and other food log details you enter or save.
- Photos and scanner inputs: meal photos or camera inputs you choose to submit to the AI food scanner so the app can estimate calories and macros. Camera access is requested only when needed for scanner features.
- Apple Health and fitness data: if you grant permission, the app may read or write specific HealthKit data such as weight, steps, active energy, activity, workouts, water, dietary energy, and related nutrition or wellness metrics. The exact categories requested are shown in Apple's permission screen.
- Purchase and subscription information: subscription status, entitlement data, receipts, product identifiers, renewal status, and billing metadata provided by Apple or subscription infrastructure providers.
- Device, diagnostics, and usage information: device model, operating system version, app version, language settings, approximate region, crash logs, performance data, and feature usage events.
- Support communications: your name, email address, subject, user ID if supplied, message content, and related information you provide when contacting support.
3. How We Use Information
- To provide the app's BMI calculator, weight tracking, food logging, calorie and macro tracking, water tracking, activity tracking, scanner features, progress charts, and Apple Health integration.
- To generate nutrition estimates from meal photos, barcode scans, and manually entered food information.
- To personalize goals, units, reminders, charts, and daily summaries.
- To authenticate users, sync app data where available, maintain subscriptions, and verify premium entitlements.
- To respond to support requests, troubleshoot issues, process account or deletion requests, and communicate service-related information.
- To detect, prevent, and investigate misuse, fraud, security incidents, crashes, and technical problems.
- To improve app reliability, usability, performance, and feature quality.
4. Apple Health and HealthKit Data
Apple Health data is processed only after you grant permission through Apple's HealthKit permission flow. You can choose which categories to allow and can revoke access at any time in the Health app or iOS Settings.
We use Apple Health and fitness data only to provide health, fitness, nutrition, tracking, and progress features directly to you. We do not sell Apple Health data, use it for advertising, or disclose it to third parties for advertising, marketing, or unrelated data mining.
The app must not write false or inaccurate information to Apple Health. Any data written to Apple Health is based on entries, calculations, or actions made through the app and should be reviewed by you for accuracy.
5. AI Food Scanner and Nutrition Estimates
If you use the AI food scanner, the photo or image input you choose to submit may be processed by automated systems and service providers to identify foods and estimate calories, macros, and related nutrition information. These estimates may be inaccurate, incomplete, or unsuitable for your specific needs.
You should review and adjust any generated food or nutrition entry before relying on it. The app is designed for general wellness tracking and is not a medical device or a substitute for professional nutrition, medical, or dietetic advice.
6. Sharing and Service Providers
We do not sell your personal information. We may share information with service providers that help us operate the app, including hosting, authentication, database, AI analysis, barcode or nutrition lookup, analytics, crash reporting, customer support, subscription management, and payment-related services.
These providers are permitted to process information only as needed to provide services to us or as otherwise required by law. We require providers handling user data to provide protections consistent with this Privacy Policy and applicable privacy requirements.
We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect rights and safety, to investigate misuse, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, subject to appropriate safeguards.
7. Data Retention and Deletion
We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the app, maintain your account, support subscriptions, resolve disputes, comply with legal obligations, enforce our agreements, prevent fraud, and maintain security.
Some app data may be stored locally on your device and may remain there until you delete entries, clear app data, or uninstall the app. Support communications may be retained for a reasonable period so we can respond to requests and maintain service records.
You may request deletion of your account or personal information through the app's support options or by using the support form on our website. We may retain limited information when required for legal, security, fraud-prevention, accounting, or dispute-resolution purposes.

9. Children's Privacy
The app is not intended for children under 13, or a higher minimum age if required by law in your location. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we learn that a child has provided personal information, we will take appropriate steps to delete it.
10. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect information, including access controls, encryption in transit where appropriate, and service-provider safeguards. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
11. International Processing
Information may be processed and stored in countries other than where you live, including the United States and other jurisdictions where our service providers operate. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for cross-border transfers.
